Jerry Smith Park provides a southern anchor for Kansas City, MO’s park and boulevard system. It consists of 360 acres of open rolling hills, wooded forests and a three-acre lake. The park is also an important element of the Centennial Boulevard System. The Centennial Boulevard continuously links 43 miles of Kansas City’s boulevards and parkways, extending from Kansas City International Airport in the Northland to Jerry Smith Park in the south. The Centennial Boulevard segment along Blue River Road also provides a link to the Blue River and a connection among Jerry Smith Park, Minor Park and Swope Park, making it particularly desirable to outdoor enthusiasts.
This walk/hike is on a mostly flat gravel trail, though there are some ups and downs. It is probably a good idea to spray yourself with bug repellent.
