Hike on the Old Railroad Bed Trail

The Old Railroad Bed Trial has some great views high above the Blue River.

This is one of my favorite hikes. The route in the screenshot is just short of 3 1/2 miles, and should take about 2 hours – We will stick to this route as a group, but anyone who wants to adventure away from the group, is welcome to do so.

This is a hike on dirt and rock trails, so make sure you prepare properly. It’s summer, so you’ll probably want to bring bug spray and make sure your dog is up to date with their flea and tick meds.

Note – This trail crosses a shallow stream.

OFF-LEASH – All cities in the Kansas City area have “leash laws,” requiring dogs to be on-leash at all times (other than specifically designated areas). As a group, KC Dog Club does not require dogs to be kept on-leash, however, you (alone) are responsible for your dog, the actions of your dog, and any fines you may receive for your dog being off-leash.
