Mayday for Mutts – Hike on the Old Railroad Bed Trail

Home  /  Mayday for Mutts – Hike on the Old Railroad Bed Trail

Updated October 22nd, 2017 | Originally published February 8, 2017

The Old Railroad Bed Trial was the 2016 Kansas City Dog Club award winner for Best Hike with the Hounds.

This trail has some great views high above the Blue River.

The trail is ~4 miles, and should take 2 hours, or less. We will stop at the river for the dogs to play.

This is a hike on dirt and rock trails, so make sure you prepare properly.

Note – This trail crosses a shallow stream.

OFF-LEASH – All cities in the Kansas City area have “leash laws,” requiring dogs to be on-leash at all times (other than specifically designated areas). As a group, KC Dog Club does not require dogs to be kept on-leash, however, you (alone) are responsible for your dog, the actions of your dog, and any fines you may receive for your dog being off-leash.

YOUR RSVP – Please do not RSVP until you are 100% positive you will be able to attend. If you RSVP YES, but your plans change, please update your RSVP to NO. New members who no-show for their first event & established members who no-show twice will be removed from KC Dog Club.

Feel free to bring guests! Just RSVP with +1, +2, +3, etc.
