Let’s go on an adventurous hike!
This hike is a little different than most of the KC Dog Club hikes! On this hike we will descend a very steep hill and cross the river multiple times. Your feet will get wet! (unless you wear water-proof boots, of course)
We will begin the hike on the east side of the river at the Old Railroad Bed Trial, cross the river to the west and hike south on the River Trail, then cross back over to the east side, and continue north on the Old Railroad Bed Trail.
Map My Walk says the hike will be approximately 3 miles (though I think it’s actually closer to 4 miles) –Â www.mapmywalk.com/routes/view/1829782535

This is a hike on dirt and rock trails, so make sure you prepare properly. There may be mud on the trail. We’re in the woods, so you may want to bring bug spray for yourself and your pooch. You should also bring water for your dog.

This is a public event. We’re inviting dog-loving hikers all across Kansas City. Mark yourself as “Going” on the Facebook event page and share with your friends –Â www.facebook.com/events/1876755415973388/
OFF-LEASHÂ – All cities in the Kansas City area have “leash laws,” requiring dogs to be on-leash at all times (other than specifically designated areas). As a group, KC Dog Club does not require dogs to be kept on-leash, however, you (alone) are responsible for your dog, the actions of your dog, and any fines you may receive for your dog being off-leash.
